Marketing Coordinator

Houston, TX
Part Time
Mid Level
Marketing Coordinator

Employment Classification
  • This position is classified as a non-exempt, hourly W-2 employee, paid $10.00 per hour plus commission.
  • Given the entry-level, clerical nature of this role and the degree of direction and supervision involved, this position is not a fit for 1099 independent contractor classification.
  • Commission earnings must be included in the regular rate of pay for overtime calculation purposes for any workweek in which overtime hours are worked, consistent with FLSA requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of Breakthrough Behavioral's marketing, outreach, and community engagement activities under the direction of leadership.
  • Assist with creating and scheduling social media content, flyers, and outreach materials promoting agency services.
  • Maintain and update marketing materials, brochures, and community resource lists.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support, including filing, data entry, correspondence, and scheduling.
  • Answer phones, greet visitors, and route inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
  • Assist with maintaining office supplies, mailings, and basic recordkeeping.
  • Support coordination of outreach events, vendor fairs, and partnership meetings.
  • Track and report on outreach activities and referral-source contacts as directed by the supervisor.

  • Maintain confidentiality of client and business information consistent with HIPAA and agency policy.
  • Perform other clerical and marketing support duties as assigned.
Compliance Requirements
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check per agency policy.
  • Must complete HIPAA/PHI confidentiality training given administrative and clerical access to client-adjacent information.
  • Commission structure must be reviewed and approved by leadership/counsel to confirm it is not based on the number of individuals referred for treatment or admitted to services reimbursable by Medicaid or other federal health care programs. Commission tied to referral volume for such services can implicate the federal Anti-Kickback Statute and Texas illegal remuneration law. Commission should instead be tied to permissible, non-referral metrics (e.g., completed marketing deliverables, event participation, content output, administrative KPIs).
  • Hourly rate must comply with applicable federal and Texas minimum wage requirements at time of hire.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in marketing, communications, business, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • No prior professional experience required — this is an entry-level position.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort learning new software and social media platforms.
  • Reliable transportation for occasional local outreach events, if applicable to the role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail for clerical tasks.
  • Basic familiarity with social media platforms and simple content creation.
  • Friendly, professional demeanor for phone and in-person interactions.

  • Willingness to learn agency services, community resources, and behavioral health basics.
  • Discretion in handling confidential client and business information.
